There are a few items in Baldur’s Gate 3 that every player should have in their inventory, and a shovel is one of them. If you’re playing a character like The Dark Urge or a similar starting class, you may have noticed mounds of dirt all over the world of Faerûn. Yet, you won’t be able to do anything with them if you don’t have a shovel. But fret not; we’ve covered everything you need to know to get one below.
Where to find a shovel in Baldur’s Gate 3
The easiest way to get a shovel is to buy one from one of the many vendors in the world. Not every vendor will sell shovels, but they are a staple item in many stores. The first one you’re likely to find in the game is Arron in Druid Grove. He sold us a shovel for just two gold, which you’ll easily make back from digging up your first dirt mound.
Alternatively, if you want to save your gold, you can find a shovel just south of Druid Grove in a dirt mound. See the picture above to get an idea of what to look for. If you’re still early in the game, you should be able to find this shovel before opening up Druid’s Grove. Which means you can get to digging for treasure right away.
Make sure to dig up the dirt mound where you find the shovel, too, there’s treasure to be had right off the bat.
Happy digging!
