Skill boxes in Type Soul are (typically) powerful moves that, um, come in a box. They are, without a doubt, the most important things to consider when building your character in the game, as some of them are so useful you might wind up building your character around them.
It might be no surprise that skill boxes are very hard to get, considering how useful they are. They are given as rewards for raids, and their drop rate is extraordinarily low. Faction Raids and Karakura raids both have a chance to provide you with one, so if you’re looking for a skill box, you can grind either one of those. However, if it’s not clear, it can take quite a while.
Once you have a skill box, the move you get from it is also random. If you’re looking for one in particular, it can take even longer before you get the one you want unless you’re extremely lucky. However, the skills do typically apply to your build, with them typically falling into the Skill Tree you have at least 25 points poured into.
Once you have a skill box, you use it by equipping it to one of your quick keys. You then press that key and your avatar will hold the box out. Press the use key, and the skill will drop into your skill tree. You won’t get any notification that it worked, which can be pretty jarring, but don’t worry, check the skill tree, and you’ll find it, usually at the bottom.
Lastly – and this is a bit of a bummer – you can only learn two box skills at once. If you’re really keen on getting a different pair, you can use a blue pill to wipe your skills back to the beginning and try again.
