The Make it Rain Campaign 2024 has come to Final Fantasy XIV, and with it, you’ve finally got a chance to get your hands on the long-awaited Imp Costume. You can also stock up on MGP while the event is live, but let’s face it, it’s all about the costume.
To get the Imp Costume, you’ll need to complete an easy, albeit incredibly bizarre, quest involving a journalist and a very underdressed Imp.
How to complete Of Impish Importance in Final Fantasy XIV
To begin the FFXIV Gold Saucer event, head to Ul’dah, The Steps of Nald, and talk to Quevain for the quest “Of Impish Importance”. He’s a journalist from The Thavnairian Truth, and he’s heard some rumors of Imps flooding the Gold Saucer. Of course, he wants to investigate, and he asks for your help.
Head to the Gold Saucer and find Quevain in Entrance Square (X:5.5, Y:6.4). Upon talking to him, you’ll discover that there are, in fact, no Imps running around the various rooms of the Gold Saucer, but instead people dressed up in the costume we’re after.
However, as an investigative journalist, Quevain needs to know why people have suddenly decided to dress up in such a way. Head to Wonder Square and find the Avid Attendant (X:6.9, Y:7.8).
The Avid Attendant explains one of the Gold Saucer staffers suggested employees begin dressing in Imp costumes as a fun way to celebrate the Make it Rain Campaign. He’s unsure exactly who suggested the fancy dress, but he does know where we can find them.
Head up to the Manderville Lounge (I’m sure you can see where this is going) and talk to the severely underdressed Imposing Imp (X:6.1, Y:6.9).
After a very strange and non-vocal discussion, you’ll automatically be placed into the Imp Costume (which you must stay in to progress the quest) before being sent off to talk to patrons of the Gold Saucer. There are three to find in total:
- Demanding Daughter (X:8.2, Y:5.0)
- Pitiable Patron (X:6.6, Y:5.3)
- Mascot-loving Maiden (X:8.2, Y:5.9)
Having spoken to all three, and given some questionable answers to their questions, head back to the Manderville Lounge and talk to Imposing Imp again. After more semi-awkward silence, head back to Entrance Square and talk to Quevain (X:5.6, Y:6.5) again.
After a cutscene, during which the least surprising twist of all time is revealed and Godbert owns up to coming up with this whole fancy dress idea (for a good reason, I should add), the quest will be complete and you’ll be in possession of your very own Imp Costume to do with as you desire.
