Step-by-step instructions on getting a Fortnite refund
In order to get a Fortnite refund, the purchase has to be within the first 30 days. If that’s the case with you, please proceed with these instructions.
- Boot up the game and then click the profile picture on the top right. This will bring up the sidebar Social menu.
- Next, click the gear symbol on the bottom left of the sidebar.
- Select “Support and Refunds.”
- Now go to “Return or Cancel Purchase.”
- You’ll see a selection of your past purchases. You can then “Use Return Ticket” to begin the process. Keep in mind you can only do this process three times over 365 days.
- Additionally, there may be a “Cancel Purchase” tab. Hold it down to cancel the VBucks payment.
- Once you use a Return Ticket, it will ask if you want to return the items. Agree to it and then the VBucks will be back on your account.

US Residents might want to know this
Did you know you can also get a Fortnite refund from the Federal Trade Commission if you’re American? According to the FTC, you can get a refund if:
- You were charged in-game currency for items you didn’t want between January 2017 and September 2022
- Your child made charges to your credit card without your knowledge between January 2017 and November 2018
- Your account was locked between January 2017 and September 2022 after you complained to your credit card company about wrongful charges
You’ll need to be 18 and over or get a parent/guardian to fill the form out for you. The deadline is January 17, 2024.
