A new and mysterious resource was added to Palworld with the Sakurajima update — Meteorite Fragments. They’re not easy to find and rely on a seemingly random event within Palpagos, so they’re worth stocking up on whenever you can get them.
You won’t be able to get any Meteorite Fragments unless a Meteorite falls nearby, and you’ll know when one does because you’ll be notified in the same way as you are when raids happen at your base. A Meteorite can fall in any location and at any time.
What is a Meteorite Falling alert in Palworld?
An icon will appear on your map, as well as the navigation at the top of the screen. Head towards where the Meteorite fell, but make sure you take lots of ammunition and strong Pals with you, because Metorites bring rare and strong Pals down to earth with them. With the two Meteorites that have fallen in my game, I’ve been able to fight and capture both Xenogard and Selyne.
After you’ve dealt with the Pal accompanying the Meteorite, collect up the Fragments on the ground, but don’t leave yet. Mining the Meteorite itself will provide more Fragments, allowing you to stock up.
A word of warning, though: Meteorite Fragments are very heavy, so be aware that you may become over encumbered once you’ve collected them all. Make sure to carry a Grappling Gun with you, using it to easily propel yourself towards the nearest fast travel point. Alternatively, you can use a Homeward Thundercloud to immediately transport you back to the nearest base, if you’ve got one in your inventory to use.
How to use Meteorite Fragments in Palworld
Once you’ve gathered a few, Meteorite Fragments can be used to create a Meteor Launcher. This weapon unlocks at level 37 using 3 Ancient Technology Points. With an attack of 3,000, this weapon is definitely one you want to have on hand when you encounter high level enemies.
Meteorite Fragments can also be placed into a Crusher, though I wouldn’t recommend using them for this unless you have a huge hoard piled up. When put into a Crusher, you will receive 3 Paldium Fragments per Meteorite Fragment.
