As Palworld tackles the traditional survival game formula, you’ll need a steady supply of materials to expand your base and Pal collection. If you’re on the hunt for Sulfur, I’ve got you. Here’s where you can find Sulfur in Palworld.
Dig deep — Mining Sulfur
In Palworld, Sulfur is found in underground deposits you can mine (dungeons). There’s also chunks of Sulfur scattered out along the islands in the greater open world, seemingly near sandier areas. Perhaps less so; I’ve found them in patches of green, but the earlier two seem to be the better bet. At least, that’s where I’ve found deposits so far.
Sulfur in Dungeons
Lucky me, I found Sulfur not too far along in my Palworld journey. A hefty supply of the material was tucked away, hidden in an underground dungeon on the beginner Windswept Island. The dungeon entrance sat tucked away just east of the Rayne Syndicate Tower, the image above highlights the location.
It looks a bit like other ore you’ve seen around, but Sulfur has a very clear yellow tint all over. I found a few hunks of the big rock scattered about that dungeon. Since it’s a bit dark, I’d recommend running around with your torch out. There wasn’t much in there too scary — minus the giant boss at the end — but I’d hate for you to miss out just because it’s a bit too dark.
Near Cinnamoth Forest
Sulfur also spawns outside, toward the inner patch of islands. I found it in areas near more sandy-looking patches. If you’re working your way in from the beginner area, unlock the Cinnamoth Forest waymark, then glide west across the gap to get to the other island. I located Sulfur looping around here.
The Investigator’s Fork waymark is also just slightly northwest here, and another viable option to find Sulfur near.
The magma pools of Mount Obsidian
Mount Obsidian is surrounded by molten pools of lava and as High School Geograph — where there is lava, there is sure to be Sulfur.
There are few spots around Mount Obsidian which are abundant in Sulfur, but the most prolific area seems to be the largest pool to the east side of that particular island. Here, there are locations with 8-10 Sulfur rocks waiting to be mined.
In order to head West to Mount Obsidian does require some planning, though. You’ll need to craft some Heat Resistant Armor and find a mount that can fly in order to navigate the tricky mountainous terrain. You’ll also need to be at least level 40 before you can take on the wild Pals of the area.
Twilight Dunes
To the North-west of the starting area, pretty far north, there’s a small and seemingly random Desert mini-biome called Twilight Dunes.
There’s a lot of Sulfur to be found here, though not as much as on Obsidian Mountain, but you don’t have to be quite as high level to venture here. You might have to fight off some over-eager Lovanders in order to gather your materials without being disturbed, but they’re not too difficult to take down or capture.
Just like venturing to any Desert, be prepared for the heat and be sure to don some Heat Resistant Armor during the day, switching to Cold Resistant Armor during the the night.
Anyway, keep checking back! We’ll continue updating our Sulfur-mining resources as we make more discoveries in Palworld.
