The Tea Set in Stardew Valley has always been one of the rarest items in the game. It was, until update 1.6, only available as a gift given at the Feast of the Winter Star. If you’ve been after this item for a while, I’ve got good news. But I’ve also got bad news.
The Tea Set, at first glance, doesn’t seem like it would be such an elusive item. The much wanted gift can be given by almost all of the adult villagers (except Clint, Emily, Marnie, Robin and Willy) at the Feast of the Winter Star. However, the chances of getting this specific item are incredibly low. People have even gone as far as to test timing theories, which seems to offer some increased chance.
However, there is hope. The issue is, this hope is at the end of a very, very long tunnel. At least if you want to go down the ‘proper’ route.
How to get the Tea Set in Stardew Valley 1.6
With the 1.6 update, ConcernedApe threw us a bone and put in one additional way to get the Tea Set in Stardew Valley. Unfortunately, it’s still very much up to chance.
This new method for getting the Tea Set requires you to wait until year 25. Yes, you read that right—year 25.
Once you reach year 25, there is a 5% chance that the Traveling Cart will have a Tea Set in stock at any given time. If the Tea Set is listed for purchase, you’ll need 1,000,000 Gold in order to purchase it.
How to guarantee a Tea Set in Stardew Valley
If you’re sick of waiting, or don’t want to leave things to chance, there is one guaranteed way to get a Tea Set in Stardew Valley. I don’t recommend this method, as it’s basically cheating, but there is a way.
To do it, head down to Marnie’s and purchase any animal, putting [341] as their name. Once you leave the shop interface, you’ll have a Tea Set in your inventory, but you’ll forever have to live with the guilt of knowing how you got it.
