You’ll find it in the tutorial area
If there’s one thing I like doing in Zelda games (when possible), it’s collecting outfits. There’s something satisfying about sifting through your inventory and seeing a ton of options, and there’s no shortage of duds in Tears of the Kingdom. Here’s how to get the Archaic Tunic, which you can pick up very early in the game during the tutorial.
The Archaic Tunic can be found in a chest in the Pondside Cave in the Great Sky Island tutorial area
The Archaic Tunic is one of the first things you can grab in Tears of the Kingdom, as it’s located in the Great Sky Island zone: where you’ll gain control of Link directly following the brief intro. Where you want to go is the Pondside Cave, which is accessible from multiple paths, near the southwest corner of the zone.
If you’ve already left the Great Sky Islands, no problem! You can head back there manually after leaving the area. Just go back to the Nachoyah Shrine, use Ascend, and glide right down to the Pondside Cave.
The cave is marked clearly on the map (with text), and all you need to do is head in. Once you’re in the cave, just open the chest inside and Bob’s your uncle! The Archaic Tunic is yours.
It’s not particularly great in terms of raw defense (with a rating of “1”), but it’s stylish.
