The Blackjack mount in Final Fantasy XIV

If you’re after a mount that lets you chauffeur around your friends in style in Final Fantasy XIV, look no further than Blackjack. It’s one of the very few four-seater mounts available to the masses all year round, and it’s not that hard to get if you don’t mind a bit of a grind.

Four seater mounts in Final Fantasy XIV are, invariably, locked behind Savage Raiding (Skyslipper), time-limited events (Regalia), or purchased through the MogStation (Chocobo Carriage). Blackjack, however, is available to the masses for purchase from the Gold Saucer. Sadly, though, you’ll need to hoard a hefty pile of MGP if you want to get your hands on it.

How big does this pile need to be, you ask? 4,000,000 MGP. Ouch.

While it’s true that this is a huge amount of MGP to strive for, it’s not impossible and if you’re persistent with your gambling attempts, you’ll get there eventually. Thankfully, there are some ways to make earning those tokens just a little easier. We have a full guide on the best ways to earn MGP, but here are a couple of quick things not to forget.

Make the most of the Make It Rain Campaign

At the time of writing, the latest iteration of the Make It Rain Campaign is currently underway. This annually repeating event rewards players with a 50% increase to all MGP earned through Gold Saucer activities, such as GATEs, Cactpot, Triple Triad, Chocobo Racing, and various other Gold Saucer minigames.

Enter the Jumbo Cactpot every week

Like the real-life Lottery, you can’t win the Cactpot if you haven’t entered. While winning is far from guaranteed, it’s slightly more possible if you actually purchase a ticket. The main prize varies week to week, depending on how many people enter, but it’s usually up there in the millions. The first ticket costs 100 MGP, and the second and third cost 150 and 200 MGP respectively.

Don’t forget Mini Cactpot, too. You can buy three Mini Cactpot tickets every day for 10 MGP each, and each attempt can net you 10,000 MGP if you’re lucky. The minimum prize available is 36 (without the buff from Make It Rain), so you’re guaranteed a profit, at the very least.

Once you’ve hoarded your 4,000,000 MGP, head to the main desk in Entrance Square and talk to the Gold Saucer Attendant (X:5.1, Y:6.6). Select ‘Prize Claim III’ and you’ll find the Blackjack Identification Key in the listed available wares.

Purchase this (and wince as you watch your MGP disappear), then right-click it within your inventory and select ‘Use’. After that, you’ll be able to summon Blackjack from within the Mounts menu.
