The Phantom Liberty DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 is live today, with its own campaign and ending that can branch out, depending on your choices. But on top of that, Phantom Liberty also adds an entirely new ending for Cyberpunk 2077 that you may or may not be able to see, depending on what you do in Dogtown.
To be clear, this new option is separate from the ending of Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty, though your choices there will determine if you can see it or not. This is a fully new ending for Cyberpunk 2077 as a whole, which will see you through to the full game’s credits if you choose to take it. And it’s also wholly removed from the usual ending structure of the game, too.
No-spoiler guide to getting the new ending in Cyberpunk 2077
We’ll start with a spoiler-lite version of what’s needed to get the new ending. We can’t avoid everything, but we will avoid specifics as much as possible.
First, just continue through the Phantom Liberty story surrounding Reed, Songbird, and Dogtown as normal. Eventually, you’ll come to a mission where there is an obvious branching point, making you side with one party’s plan or another. This is the big branching point in Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty‘s endings, and will affect how the rest of the DLC plays out from there. It will also change the path towards the new ending.
If you upload the software, you’ll simply need to make sure that the character Songbird stays alive, no matter how. If you opt not to, you’ll need to cut a deal at the last possible minute.

How to get the new ending, explained (with spoilers)
The new ending added in Phantom Liberty directly ties into Songbird’s cure, a neural matrix that can supposedly wipe the Relic out from your system. In order to obtain the matrix, you’ll need to work with Songbird and keep her alive.
If you sided with Songbird in “I’ve Seen That Face Before,” you just need to keep helping her throughout the story. Once you take the tram to the shuttle, Songbird will tell you the truth about the cure. At this point, if you want to see the new ending, you’ll have to cut a deal with Reed. He’ll talk the NUS into helping you use the cure, and that will set you on the path.
If you sided with Reed in “I’ve Seen That Face Before” and uploaded the Icebreaker, you’ll have to follow the story events through to the Cynosure data core. At this point, you must not kill Songbird, and instead hand her over with Reed. Once again, you’ll cut a deal for use of the cure.
You’ll see credits roll on Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty, but the journey ain’t over yet. Wait for Reed’s call and you’ll link up, eventually setting up a meet on—where else—the roof of Misty’s shop. It’s where all big decisions happen, I guess. Make your last calls and wrap up any loose ends before going there, as it’s a one-way ticket to the new ending and credits.
