Get good at your job
Octopath Traveler 2’s job classes may not be as varied as a game like Bravely Default II, but they offer plenty of choices for players to customize their gameplay experience. Unfortunately, grinding job points is a tough deal, which is where the Octopath Traveler 2 JP Augmentor comes into play.
Octopath Traveler 2 JP Augmentor, explained
The JP Augmentor is an essential accessory item for Octopath Traveler 2 players. In general, you gain two types of points when you finish a battle: experience points (XP) and job points (JP). JP is notoriously finicky in this JRPG, doling out at sometimes frustrating rates, even in higher-level encounters.
Thankfully, the Octopath Traveler 2 JP Augmentor accessory is one of the few ways to increase your JP drop rate. The accessory item boosts the amount of JP you get per battle. This speeds up the grind, letting you unlock more skills for your job class much faster.
JP Augmentor location
For players looking to nab the JP Augmentor, you’ll want to head to the Cavern of Waves. This is a level 48 dungeon in Octopath Traveler 2. To get here, head to the Beasting Bay Anchorage area on the island of Toto’haha.
This is just north of Ochette’s starting village or you can reach here via the boat near New Delsta or Canalbrine. If you’ve been here once before, you can even instantly fast-travel here for free.
Once you arrive in this level 11 area, head all the way east past the save point until you reach a wall. Head up through the arches to reach a small dock. Use that boat to head back west to the cavern on a small island just north of the Anchorage.
This is a level 48 cave, but you can enter at a much lower level and get the JP Augmentor. In fact, I did it myself with a party of only level 30 characters. The key is to equip your party with the Cleric’s Evil Ward skill that gives better chances of leaving fights.
Pair that skill with the Scholar’s Evasive Maneuvers, which reduces the rate of random encounters. Enter the cave and walk to the save point straight ahead in case you get attacked and die. You can even close your game and restart it, which seemingly resets your random encounters, for the best possible results.
When you’re ready, head left from the save spot and then up the stairs that go north. When you get to the next fork shortly ahead, head right and it will take you to a chest. This chest contains the JP Augmentor accessory, which you can now equip and benefit from.
