How to get the perfect Palworld base team: Highest level Pal for each skill

Base is where the heart is

Once you’ve set up your base in Palworld, you’re going to want to put in some Pals who can do the hard work for you while you’re off exploring Palpagos. Of course, you could put any old Pals in there and hope for the best, but some Pals are simply more efficient for each task than others.

Whether you need a Pal to craft items while you’re away from base or you need someone to water your crops, there are ideal Pals for everything. It can be daunting, at first, trying to figure out which Pals fit the bill, but I’ve got you covered.

Fair warning, if you plan to put a team together based on this list, you’re going to need a lot of Large Pal Beds because most of the Pals mentioned here are on the bigger side.

Best Pal for Handiwork: Anubis

If you’re looking for someone to craft for you while you’re gone or follow you around as you erect buildings and decor on your base, you need Anubis.

It’s the only Pal currently within the game who boasts a level 4 Handiwork skill and trust me, you’ll notice the difference as soon as you see it. From Pal Spheres to Bullets, there’s not much that Anubis can’t craft at lightning speed.

In the wild, you’ll only find Anubis as a level 47 Alpha Pal, but you can breed him using the following two Pals:

  • Penking + Bushi

Best Pal for Mining: Astegon

When it comes to Mining, whether it’s in your Stone Pit or deposits that respawn within your base, there are two Pals that fit the bill with level 4 Mining skill — Astegon and Blazamut.

Both of these Pals can be found in the wild as high-level Alpha Pals, but Astegon is easily breedable, which makes him the best choice, especially if you want to maximize efficiency on your base before reaching endgame. The easiest breeding pair to achieve in order to get Astegon is as follows:

  • Grizzbolt + Cryolinx

Best Pals for Transporting & Lumbering: Wumpo Botan

There are a huge number of base faculties that produce items in need of transportation. Rather than letting these dropped items litter up the place, get yourself a Wumpo Botan.

Wumpo Botan only spawns on Wildlife Sanctuary 2 towards the Western edge of the map. However, if you’re not wanting to venture this far in order to capture this Pal, it can be bred using the following parent pair:

  • Jormuntide + Bushi

Unfortunately, there are currently no Pals with a level 4 Lumbering skill, but there are a few who boast a level 3. The best of these is Wumpo Botan, because he also boasts a level 4 Transporting skill, letting you double his usefulness on your base.

Best Pal for Kindling: Jormuntide Ignis

There are a lot of Pals who will help you with cooking, but none offer quite the same speed boost as Jormuntide Ignis with its level 4 Kindling skills.

Jormuntide Ignis is one of two Pals that can potentially hatch from a Huge Dragon Egg found in the wild, and if you discover that egg near the lava pools of Mount Obsidian, you’re almost guaranteed to get this Pal in your arsenal.

Best Pal for Watering: Jormuntide

Whether you need a Pal to water your crops or you need someone to power your Mill or Crusher, the only Pal that boasts a level 4 Watering skill is Jormuntide.

Jormuntide can be found in the wild as a level 45 Alpha Pal and he’s the only Alpha Pal who has two spawn points on the map. Otherwise, you can breed your very own super-waterer by breeding these Pals together:

  • Grizzbolt + Nitewing

Best Pal for Gathering: Frostallion Noct

Once you’ve begun to grow crops, you’ll need a Pal to reap what your other Pals sow. In this case, your best bet is Frostallion Noct. Its level 4 Gathering skill means that it is much faster when it comes to harvesting crops, leaving more time for more to be planted.

Getting your hands on Frostallion Noct is not easy, though. It cannot be captured in the wild and is only obtainable through breeding. To breed Frostallion Noct, you’ll need to use the following two Pals:

  • Frostallion + Helzephyr

Best Pal for Planting & Medicine Production: Lyleen

Before Frostallion Noct can gather your crops, you’re going to need someone who plants them and the best Pal for this is Lyleen. Its level 4 Planting skill allows for much faster planting and when teamed up with Jormuntide and Frostallion Noct, these three will keep your farm running like clockwork.

Thankfully, Lyleen isn’t too difficult to get your hands on. You can find it wandering around Wildlife Sanctuary 3 to the East. However, if you don’t want to get yourself a wanted level in the process, you can also breed Lyleen by forcing the following two Pals into a Breeding Farm:

  • Mossanda + Petallia

Lyleen isn’t just good for Planting, either. If you want a Pal to produce Medicine in order to fix your Pals after raids or improve their mood, she doubles up for this purpose, too. There aren’t any level 4 Medicine Production Pals, but Lyleen has a level 3 in this skill, so she’s the best you’re going to get at the moment.

Best Pal for Cooling: Frostallion

If you’ve got a Cooler Box or Cooler around your base, you’ll need a pal with the Cooling skill and the best one, by a mile, is Frostallion. It boasts a level 4 Cooling skill, so you’ll never have to worry about food becoming spoiled with this Pal around.

The downside to this is the fact that Frostallion can only be caught in the wild after defeating the level 50 Alpha Frostallion on Astral Mountain. There’s no breeding pairing, either, so you might have a job on your hands if you want to utilize Frostallion’s cooling power.

Best Pal for Electricity Production: Orserk

Once you’ve begun to unlock electrical items for your base, from Production Lines to the Electric Kitchen, you’ll need a Pal that can produce electricity in order to power these things.

Orserk, with his level 4 Electricity Production skill, can produce a lot of electricity in a very short period of time, making him the ideal Pal for this job. While he can only be found in the wild as an Alpha Pal at the end of dungeons, it can be easily bred using the following two Pals:

  • Grizzbolt + Relaxaurus
