Destiny 2: The Final Shape has introduced a bevy of Exotics for Guardians to chase and collect. One of the more unique weapons is the Still Hunt sniper rifle. This Solar gun allows any Guardian to harness the power of the Hunter’s Golden Gun Super. Here’s how to get it and make your Titan a better Hunter than Crow.
Now anyone can wield the Golden Gun
To obtain the Still Hunt Exotic sniper rifle, players will need to complete The Final Shape campaign. Afterward, speak with Cayde-6 in the pseudo-Tower to get the Wild Card Exotic mission. This quest chain is unique in that it’s entirely self-contained, with no need to travel all over the system to complete it. The whole thing only takes about 45 minutes and, in my opinion, tells a more compelling story than the campaign. Once that’s complete, Cayde will give you the sniper rifle.

Cayde’s Retribution: Picking up Orbs of Power or landing precision hits charge Still Hunt’s Super bar. Once full, hold the reload button to switch to Golden Gun shots.
Golden Munitions: This magazine gains bonus ammo whenever a Golden Gun shot is acquired.
Sharpshooter: Still Hunt gains passive bonuses to target acquisition, ADS speed, and flinch resistance. This bonus increases when Still Hunt’s super mode is active.
It’s taken me a long time to come around to sniper rifles in Destiny 2. That being said, Still Hunt feels great to use. It’s incredibly snappy with virtually no recoil. It’s nothing but efficient at taking down targets at range. For this alone, I can see it becoming very popular in PvP.
As for the Exotic perks, it can be difficult to charge the Super bar unless you’ve set up a build for generating Orbs of Power. For those of us playing with a controller, it’s not enough to rely on racking up precision shots to fill the gauge. However, once you have it filled, Still Shot does exactly what you’d expect. I’ve found it particularly useful for those bosses with oversized melons. I didn’t anticipate this, but I think I may have found my go-to weapon for DPS after running out of Heavy ammo.
At the time of this writing, there isn’t a Catalyst for Still Hunt. If and when one should be released, I’m hoping it either fills the Super bar quicker or gives more shots when Golden Gun is active. Either way, it’s a great reward that will stay in my rotation for some time.
