As you advance your Crafting Skill in Old School Runescape, you will eventually need to get your hands on some Uncut Diamonds. Using a chisel, you can cut the precious gem into a diamond as long as you have 43 Crafting or above. Doing so will also grant you 107.5 Crafting experience. But to do so, you first need them in uncut form. Here is how to get Uncut Diamonds in OSRS.
Where to find Uncut Diamonds
There are several ways to obtain Uncut Diamonds, but the easiest is going to be to mine them.
First off, you need 40 Mining to mine the Uncut Diamonds. Next, you will need to finish the Shilo Village quest that requires players to lay to rest a vengeful spirit that is attacking the village. You can find Shilo Village in southern Karamja. Doing this quest will also unlock access to Shilo Village as well as its cart system.
Once you’ve completed the quest, you can mine Gem Rocks which are located in Shilo Village. They can be found in the Shilo Village mine both on the surface eleven and underground. Mining Enhancers do not work on Gem Rocks, so keep that in mind.
That is the easiest way to get Uncut Diamonds in OSRS, but there are a couple of other ways you can as well. When you play the Tai Bwo Wannai Cleanup minigame, Gem Rocks can sometimes spawn that allow you to mine them three times. This isn’t exactly reliable but is an option. You can also crack Wall Safes in the Rogues’ Den which requires Level 50 Thieving. However, there’s only a 1/128 chance of there being a single Uncut Diamond inside.
What are Uncut Diamonds for?
The primary purpose of Uncut Diamonds is to utilize Level 43 or higher Crafting to turn them into Diamonds. An Uncut Diamond is cut with a chisel to make a Diamond at a 1:1 ratio. This is one of the ways to level your Crafting skill higher after the Level 43 mark.
Diamonds themselves can be used further in Crafting to create a Diamond Amulet, Diamond Bracelet, Diamond Necklace, and Diamond Ring. You can also make a pretty nifty profit from cutting Diamond Bolt Tips out of a Diamond using Level 65 Fletching or higher. This can turn into a pretty nifty profit.
Now that you know how to get Uncut Diamonds in OSRS, you’ll probably want to head to Shilo Village in Karamja and get mining!
