Which key has you holster your weapon in Starfield?

To lower your weapon in Starfield on PC, you’ll need to hold the R key. The developer Bethesda doesn’t make this obvious and strangely hasn’t got a tutorial over it. Not knowing how to holster the weapon might lead to a lack of immersion in the game. Now, you can fix that.

How to change weapons

If you want to swap to a different weapon, make use of the quick wheel. Go to your inventory menu by pressing the I key. Now, select the gun you want to equip at a moment’s notice and press B. From here, you can apply the location you want the gun to be located on the quick wheel. This will dramatically quicken the process of changing weapons.

You should also make sure your first aid kits and other healing items are easy to access.

How to drop weapons

If a weapon or another piece of heavy equipment needs to be dropped, head to the inventory menu again. Hover your mouse over what you want to drop and press the R key. This will help you remove the weight on your back, preventing you from becoming over-encumbered. You should consider selling some of your items though before dropping them.

Now, you should know how to handle your weapons and equipment properly in Starfield.
