Also known as “Regenerators”
Regeneradors (those big creepy creatures) appear once again in the Resident Evil 4 remake, and there’s several ways to take them down. Here’s everything you need to know!
Use the biosensor (thermal) scope
Hey, what a coincidence! You’ll be picking up the Achilles heel of the Regeneradors right around the time you meet them in Chapter 13! After heading to the basement of the lab, you’ll acquire the biosensor (thermal) scope, which can be mounted to a rifle to take out the three parasites housed within the bodies of the Regeneradors. Make sure you equip it!
When given the chance, it’s always best to try and take out the lone parasite first, then try and shot down the clumped up two parasites. Taking out two parasites and leaving the third will place the Regenerador in a rage state; it’ll be more aggressive toward the player and faster.
As an aside, it’s a good idea to craft some rifle ammo for use during these next few chapters.
Shotguns are great for running away
If you don’t want to fight a Regenerador and just need to escape: the shotgun is your best friend. One shot at the gummy legs of a Regenerador will cause them to fall to the ground.
Note that while their legs grow back they’ll be faster by slipping/worming around: so quickly run away. If you’re just going from point A to point B, it can stun them long enough to get by them (including in a blocked doorway).
Use grenades for groups, or even for solo Regeneradors
Grenades are a quick way to potentially down multiple Regeneradors without slowly aiming at them with your rifle. When they get up, you can pick them off.
Keep a few on hand for them (or craft them) and take other enemies out in ways that conserve your grenade stock.
Do not use the knife in the remake to fight Regeneradors
In the Resident Evil 4 remake the knife has gotten some incredible upgrades, but it’s not great for Regenerador fights. It takes a ton of slashes to take them out and it’s not worth the stress of manually dodging each Regenerador. Just use all of the above methods, and don’t be afraid to run away.
