Getting from Point A to Point B in Enshrouded is quite a challenge if you’re simply hoofin’ it, but that’s what the Glinder is for. To speed the journey along, craft a Glider for Breath of the Wild style flying — bonus points for looking like a flying squirrel.
Crafting a Glider – To-Do List
A word to the wise, don’t put off making your Glider in Enshrouded. I recommend making this the first thing you do after picking a spot to settle down with your first base. Flying makes quick work of once intimidating vallies, enemy camps, and any other obstacles you’d gladly ignore.
You can’t see the Glider recipe with the regular, manual crafting menu. It first requires you make a Workbench.
With Workbench in hand — base, whatever — you’ll find the first Level 5 Glider recipe just under the Survival tab. This basic craft had 10 Speed, using 4 Stamina per Secound. That may not last long, but it’s still enough to get you on the path to the next best thing, the Advanced Glider.
I love a good checklist, so to make a Glider, you’ll need:
- (8) Shroud Wood
- (2) Animal Fur
- (2) String
- (2) Shroud Spores
Follow the Wind – Flying in Enshrouded
It’s about as simple as it sounds, so think Breath of the Wild flying here. Pinpoint the greatest point of elevation in the area you can get to, then make the brave leap forward and open that sucker up. On mouse and keyboard controls, just tap the Space Bar so you don’t eat dirt. There’s fall damage in this game, surprise.
Also note your Stamina and try not to fly against the wind. On more than one occassion, I’ve gotten a little too cocky with a jump and ran out of juice during in oportune moments. I find my usual survival stop and start strats don’t work as reliably here without finding some solid ground to park on first for a rest — so no free falling then opening your Glider.
