During Wuthering Waves’ Translation of Cat’s Language quest in Jinzhou, you’ll encounter an NPC named Xuanyin who asks you to make some milky fish soup to help her speak to a nearby cat.
Although slightly peculiar, a quest is a quest, and its rewards are worth picking up if you want some Astrite and EXP potions.
How to cook Milky Fish Soup in Wuthering Waves
Cooking milky fish soup in Wuthering Waves requires gathering the following ingredients:
- Fish
- Angelica
- Perila
All three items are fairly easy to find, as you can often find them in the wild. Many water sources, such as lakes, rivers, and ponds, have fish for you to catch, while the overworld surrounding Jinzhou frequently spawns Angelica and Perila. Angelica plants are characterized by their light blue-purple color, while Perilla is a larger plant with a deeper purple color.
Alternatively, you can visit Shifang Pharmacy in Jinzhou to purchase Angelica and Perila. Both plants cost 1,000 shell credits each, making them relatively inexpensive. Similarly, you can buy fish from Mahe, the grocery store owner near Panhua’s restaurant, for 1,500 shell credits.
Once you have all three items, head to Panhua’s restaurant to access its cooking station. You’ll find this restaurant near the Translation of Cat’s Language quest’s starting location, with a knife and fork icon indicating its location. If you haven’t done its cooking tutorial, you can briefly finish it before making the milky fish soup. After making the soup, return to Xuanyin to complete the Translation of Cat’s Language quest.
Milky fish soup also restores 40 stamina upon consumption, making it a nice item to have on hand if you plan on gliding or fighting. While other recipes later restore more, milky fish soup works as a cheap starting item until you gain the recipes and resources for others.
