If you’re heading to the new island of Sakurajima in Palworld, you’re going to want to have a stockpile of Pal Spheres in your pocket to capture all of the new Pals found there. You’ll need to go with high level Spheres, including the new Ultimate Sphere.
While you may not want to use this Ultimate Sphere on regular Pals that you meet (I’ve found that Ultra Spheres have a pretty decent capture rate, even on Sakurajima), you may want to take a few in order to catch the new Alpha Pal, Knocklem.
According to the description of Ultimate Spheres in the Technology Ladder, “almost no Pals can escape its flawless design”, although the truth of this statement remains to be seen and will likely vary depending on other things, such as how far you’ve increased your capture rate via Lifmunk Effigies.
How to make Plasteel in Palworld
As a high level item, Ultimate Spheres do require some equally high quality resources to craft, including another newly added item called Plasteel. This, in turn, requires yet another newly added resource — Crude Oil.
To make Plasteel, you’ll need to be at least level 50 and unlock the recipe using 3 Technology Points. You’ll also need an Electric Furnace to make Plasteel.
The recipe for Plasteel is as follows:
- 5 Crude Oil
- Possible drop from pals in high level Dungeons, occasionally found overworld in Junk Piles
- 5 Paldium Fragments
- Obtained through mining Paldium rocks, or by placing Stone into the Crusher
- 10 Ore
- Obtained through mining
