Like in the base game, completing certain challenges in the RE4 remake Separate Ways DLC grants you a couple of premium weapon unlocks. Since it’s merely a story campaign, you shouldn’t expect a massive new arsenal to fill up your attaché case. And if you’re expecting something truly special to bring alongside Ada, you might end up feeling a bit disappointed.
The Resident Evil 4 remake included a few bonus weapons you could earn via certain challenges. For example, you could get the Primal Knife by hunting down all 16 Clockwork Castellan figures. The Chicago Sweeper is also available to purchase after you beat the game on Professional difficulty with at least an A rank. For weapon unlocks in the Separate Ways DLC, you are held close to the same standards.
Complete challenges for weapon unlocks in RE4 remake Separate Ways DLC
There are two extra weapons in the DLC. As mentioned, you’ll need to at least finish the game once. That will unlock Professional mode. Here are the weapons and how to unlock them in the Separate Ways DLC:
Elite Knife
- Requirement: Complete all Merchant Requests.
Chicago Sweeper
- Requirement: Complete the DLC on Professional difficulty with an A rank.
As you can see, aside from the knife you still need to beat the game at least twice to get the first of the weapon unlocks in the Separate Ways DLC. And that second run is going to be a doozy, all for the same unlockable weapon as Leon. The Chicago Sweeper is earnable (again) and can be used in both Leon and Ada’s campaign. Earning the Elite Knife is much easier since all you need to do is complete all the Merchant Requests. If you need help on said requests, check out our guides:
- All Blue Medallion locations
- Jacket of All Trades
- Lord of the Waterway
- Bug Buster
- Sell two Ornate Beetles
With that, you’ll have two more weapons to play with in the DLC.
