There are a total of three Deep Dungeons in Final Fantasy XIV so far and if you’re looking for a way to get your hands on exclusive weapons or rewards, these are a good option. If you’ve arrived in Stormblood, you’ll soon be able to unlock the level 61 Heaven-on-High.
Unlike Palace of the Dead, in which you delve deeper underground as you progress through floors, the 100 floors of Heaven-on-High can be seen in the overworld as a huge, seemingly never-ending tower in The Ruby Sea.
However, just because you can see it doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll be able to enter once you arrive at the base. You’ll need to complete a few pre-requisites before you can start ascending towards the Heavens:
- Complete the level 63 MSQ quest “Tide Goes In, Imperials Go Out”
- Complete level 50 of Palace of the Dead
Once you’ve done both of these, you’ll be able to unlock Heaven-on-High by talking to Hamakaze in The Ruby Sea (X:6.2, Y11.7) and picking up the quest “Knocking on Heaven’s Door”.
How to enter Heaven-on-High
Once you’ve unlocked Heaven-on-High, you’ll be granted access to the first 100 floors. As with all Deep Dungeons, the only way to access Heaven-on-High is by physically traveling to it and talking to the NPC guarding its entrance.
To enter Heaven-on-High, you’ll need to go to The Ruby Sea and talk to Kyusei (X:21.4, Y:9.2).
How to enter Heaven-on-High at floor 31
Before you can progress past level 30 of Heaven-on-High, you’ll need to complete the quest “On the Shoulders of Giants”, which can be picked up from Kyusei once you’ve completed floor 30.
After this, you’ll be able to enter Heaven-on-High on floor 31 as long as you’ve met the following requirements:
- Start from floor 1 or 21 and clear floor 30
- Achieve this without the party ever wiping
After this, as long as you have a Heaven-on-High save file that meets the above requirements, you’ll be given the option to enter floor 31 when talking to Kyusei.
