Armored Core 6: Fires Of Rubicon features an Arena mode. It’s great so I’m going to tell you how to unlock it, but first, it’s best we talk about it as its concept might prove confusing to newcomers.
What is the arena in Armored Core 6
AC6 isn’t a Souls game, but it also features a cool PVP mode that fans of that series will love. The arena — despite what the name might lead you to believe — isn’t that. The game’s multiplayer PVP mode is “NEST“, which yes, also works like a gladiatorial arena, but that’s a different thing. Let’s charitably attribute any possible confusion caused to FromSoftware’s ever-intentionally obtuse storytelling, shall we?
The arena in Armored Core 6 is a staple of the series, a training mode where you get to battle it out against other AC units to improve your fighting skills, get money, cool decals, and some well-deserved clout.
How to unlock the Arena
Unlocking the Arena is a rather straightforward process that requires players to complete a few missions in Chapter 1. You just have to get to the mission “Operation Wallclimber”, and then complete it. This will trigger a notification that you have unlocked the Arena mode.
Now what?
Have at it. The Arena will pit you against dozens of specific AI AC units that will challenge your abilities. Defeating your opponents will earn you credits and perks. It will also increase your ranking, unlock more enemies, and, most importantly, allow you to improve your battle skills.
