Getting tired of towers yet? Odds are the Thyphlo Ruins Skyview Tower (not to be confused with the Typhlo Ruins, which is the incorrect spelling but something I totally typed like 10 times when preparing this guide!) is one of the later ones you’ll unlock in Tears of the Kingdom, but it’s just as important as the rest in terms of jumping-off points and sky island access. Here’s where to find it, and how to unlock it.
Where to find the Thyphlo Ruins Skyview Tower
The Thyphlo Ruins Skyview Tower is located in the far north above Central Hyrule, and to the west of the Eldin region. You can find the precise location of the Thyphlo Ruins Skyview Tower on the map above.
The easiest way to get there is to shoot yourself out of a northern tower, then float over and walk to the location above. The Eldin Canyon Skyview Tower is a great spot to do this, as the way north isn’t too perilous.
How to solve the puzzle of the Thyphlo Ruins Skyview Tower in Tears of the Kingdom
Upon entering the tower, you’ll find an NPC who notes that the “tower isn’t working.” Well, we can fix that! Your job is to go to the very top of the Thyphlo Ruins Skyview Tower and move the platform blocking the cannon. Once you’ve moved it out of the way with Ultrahand, you can drop down and operate the tower as normal.
The easiest way to do this that we found is to get a headstart on climbing with the Ascend ability, then manually climb the tower. Use the footholds provided in the tower itself to get a quick stamina breather, then head back up. Watch out for the ranged enemies who will be firing their bows at you: a quick shot of return fire of your own at their weak spot (their bright eyes) will take them out quickly.
To save time, keep climbing and slowly move left and right to position yourself away from the archers.
