How to unlock Whiteout in Vampire Survivors

You’ll need to do a bit of collecting

Whiteout brings some much-needed holiday cheer to Vampire Survivors, complete with snowy tundras and ice-cold enemies. Here’s how to unlock it, so you can start picking up the new weapons and items.

Whiteout is unlocked by collecting 20 Orologions

It’s important to note out of the gate that Whiteout is not unlocked automatically. You’ll need to collect 20 Orologions first. What the heck is an Orologion? Glad you asked! Orologions are those time-stopping clock power-ups, which are an homage to Castlevania‘s Stopwatch items (fun fact, I thought the Stopwatch was a toilet seat when I was a kid).

To collect them all, you’ll need to hit light sources to spawn power-ups in any map, and play until you get 20 Orologions. Pick your favorite level (that actually has power-ups spawn) and go for a new unlock or two! Once you’ve hit 20, you’ll just need to head back to the main menu. An achievement will pop and the level will be available on the stage select menu. Note that you may have to go through several runs for the achievement to trigger, so put in Hurry Mode if you have it and get another quick match in.

If you ever want to revisit your progress, just check the “unlocks” menu on the title screen. Scroll down until you find the achievement to collect 20 Orologions.

What if you already have 20 Orologions?

If you already have collected 20 or more Orologions, you’ve technically unlocked Whiteout, but you may need to do some finagling to actually get the unlock to trigger.

Go into any level, then press pause, and immediately quit out. The triggering condition will pop, and Whiteout will be available. You’ll find it in the special stages menu in the middle of the selection screen, below the “traditional” stages.
