Not to be confused with the early game spell “Levioso”
There was no chance that the memorable spell Wingardium Leviosa would be left out of Hogwarts Legacy, and of course, it does make an appearance in the new Wizarding World game. You’ll need to progress a bit with the story to actually acquire it, but once you do, you’ll be able to solve more in-game puzzles, and move things around like…magic. Here’s how to start the questline for Wingardium Leviosa, and cement it as one of the spells in your permanent arsenal.
Get the quest “Professor Garlick’s Assignment I” after the intro to Herbology
Play through the campaign until you meet Professor Garlick in an intro to Herbology class. You’ll stumble upon this questline roughly five hours in (or more, depending on your pacing).
After finishing the intro, you’ll get “Professor Garlick’s Assignment I,” another questline that lets you earn Wingardium Leviosa at the very end of it. If you have some cash ready, this is going to be really easy.
Acquire and use a Venomous Tentacula at Dogweed & Deathcap
For this part of the quest, all you need to do is acquire one Venomous Tentacula. It’s an item (L1/LB) that can be tossed at enemies to deal damage: think of it like a summon that spits acid throughout a fight.
To pick one up, you can head to the Dogweed & Deathcap store in Hogsmeade, which is far north of the main town. Speak to the NPC Beatrice Green to buy a Venomous Tentacula for 600 gold. After that, you can use it in or out of combat (there is no hard requirement) to pop that part of the quest.
You can also buy Venomous Tentacula seeds and plant them yourself, but buying one outright will quickly help you finish out this quest (more on that in a moment).
Acquire a Mandrake (also at Dogweed & Deathcap) and use it on multiple enemies simultaneously
At Dogweed & Deathcap, you can buy a Mandrake for 500 gold (or seeds), which was part of the Herbology class opening sequence.
For this part of the quest, you’ll want to find multiple enemies. Walk out of the Dogweed & Deathcap store, and head north out of Hogsmeade, which will allow you to fly around (you can walk if you can’t fly yet). Look nearby for a clump of at least two enemies, and use the Mandrake item. That’s it, quest cleared.
After all that, attend Herbology Class during the day to unlock Wingardium Leviosa
With those two parts of the quest cleared (you can confirm this by looking at the quest, which should show up like it does directly above in your questlog), go back to Professor Garlick and attend Herbology Class during the day. She will teach you Wingardium Leviosa, which you can use from then on. Make sure you get your bearings using the crates in the classroom!
Remember to use the night-to-day mechanic if you need to change the time.
