Fortnite’s Avatar Elements event features several quest lists, asking you to explore elemental powers to unlock rewards. You’ll find four elements, including Earthbending abilities, to help you finish your Chakra list and unlock the Appa Glider. Here’s how to unlock Rock Wall and Throw Rock during Fortnite’s Avatar Elements event.
How to get Earthbending Avatar Mythics in Fortnite x Avatar Elements
Using the Rock Wall and Throw Rock abilities requires finding an Earthbending scroll. You can get scrolls as floor and chest look, drops from other players, or by visiting Earth shrines around the Fortnite map. Visiting shrines is the best way to get scrolls, but you’ll often compete with other players for the spot, making it risky to explore.
You’ll know you’re approaching an Earth shrine when you see its green icon on your map. From here, you can hop out of the Battle Bus and visit or run around until you spot one in the wild. You may encounter some competition here, since other players are also interested in getting scrolls. In these cases, be prepared for a fight or visit a landmark first to get some weapons before making the trek to an Earth shrine for your scroll.
Alternatively, you can find elemental scrolls as you open chests, encounter floor loot, or defeat enemies. However, you may find others instead, such as Waterbending or Airbending scrolls, making shrine visits much safer at the risk of finding other players. Watch for the Earth scroll’s mountain drawing on the scroll, as this differentiates it from the rest.
How to use Earthbending Rock Wall and Throw Rock in Fortnite x Avatar Elements
Once you pick up an Earthbending scroll, equip it in your hotbar like you would a pickaxe or gun. From here, you’ll see two options on the left side of your screen, telling you its available abilities and their keybinds. In the case of PC, you’ll use left click to Throw Rocks at your enemies and right click to create a Rock Wall, shielding you from incoming damage.
Earthbending combines damage and protective elements by providing a high-damage, slow-moving attack with a shield ability. That way, you can throw rocks to inflict damage onto your enemies, or create a wall for cover while your heal up and regenerate shields. It’s one of the more versatile elements in the game that pairs well with Airbending’s great traversal capabilities or high-damage elements like Firebending.
