How to wait for Xiaoyu’s message in Wuthering Waves

You’ll have to wait for a while.

Wuthering Waves wait for Xiaoyu's message

Wuthering Waves is full of quests for story progression, character development, and world exploration. Every region has their own quest series, with Tiger’s Maw’s Shadow of the Past having an interesting objective involving waiting for a character, Xiaoyu, to send you a message. However, rather than being a test of skill or speed like many others, you’ll have to rely on patience.

Wait for Xiaoyu’s message in Shadows of the Past quest

Waiting for Xiaoyu’s message during Wuthering Waves’ Shadows of the Past quest requires waiting 24 real-world hours to advance through this objective. There is no way to speed this up, and using your in-game clock doesn’t count toward this time. It is simply a test of patience that requires you to wait a full day before progressing.

In other words, the Shadows of the Past quest is a time-gated mission requiring you to take a day-long break or focus on different features in Wuthering Waves. You can do anything you want during this time, from finishing other quests to defeating bosses. You can even spend this time looking for every Resonance Beacon, Sonance Casket, or Blobfly to get one step closer to reaching 100 percent completion in a region.

Regardless of how you spend the next 24 hours, you’ll receive your next quest objective after a full day passes. You’ll know you’re ready to advance when the “wait for Xiaoyu’s message” task turns into “find Xiaoyu and continue the previous topic”. You’ll have a conversation with her regarding the quest, allowing you to progress through Shadows of the Past and the rest of Tiger Maw’s storyline afterwards.
