After March 1, the game’s gone for good
EA is pulling the plug on Maxis’ action-RPG Darkspore.
The news was announced in December (thanks, PC Gamer) but it seems not many of us noticed… which may be the issue, let’s face it.
“Today, we are announcing that we will be closing the doors on Darkspore, effective March 1st, 2016. It’s been a great run and we hope that you have enjoyed your time with Darkspore,” an EA spokesperson wrote on the Darkspore forum, before pimping out Origin.
“While it can be hard to say goodbye, keep in mind there are tons of awesome games available for free on Origin. Enjoy 48-hours of fun with Game Time titles such as The Sims 4 and Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare or download the latest Origin On the House release and add it to your library.”
While you may surmise its not too much of a big deal, this does leave those who did paid for it and still enjoy it unable to play it from March 1, 2016.
Are you still playing it, friend? Does it sting to have any publisher pull a game you’ve paid to play forever? Let us know what you think in the comments…
