Ihen-a Shrine is a fun puzzle shrine in Tears of the Kingdom that ramps up the difficulty in clever ways. Of course, any puzzle shrine that becomes more complicated as you go may require some help to complete. That’s where we come in.

Below, we’ve covered everything you need to know to complete Ihen-a Shrine. But first, let’s take a look at how to find it.

How to find Ihen-a Shrine in Tears of the Kingdom

Ihen-a Shrine is located in the Lanayru Great Spring region of Hyrule. The shrine is located east of Zora’s Domain, so most players will want to travel to the Upland Zorana Skyview Tower to reach it. Alternatively, if you’ve unlocked Mogawak Shrine, which sits within Zora’s Domain, that is closer still.

From either Mogawak Shrine or Upland Zorana Tower, head east until you find the shrine between Lulu Lake and Mipha Court. See the screenshot above for the exact location of Ihen-a Shrine on the map.

How to complete Ihen-a Shrine

When you enter Ihen-a Shrine, you’ll be greeted with three platforms floating at odd angles in the air, along with a singular platform on the ground. Using Ultrahand, you can grab and manipulate these platforms to stay in place anywhere you like.

To get to the next level, place three platforms into stairs that you can climb. They don’t have to be attached, but they do need to be close enough together so that Link can jump from one to the next. To use the platform that is sitting on the ground, you first need to strike it with a weapon to activate it. Only when activated will the platforms float. See the picture above for an example of how to place the stones to reach the next section.

Puzzle 2

In the next room, there’s a single stone platform and a large metal plate standing up against the right hand wall. Here, you need to place the plate across the gap to get to the other side. However, it’s too short to reach the full distance between the two sides.

To start, strike the platform to activate it. Once it is activated, you can place it in the middle of the gap. Attach the plate to it so that you have a bridge to cross. Make sure to leave an even gap on either end of the plate so Link can easily jump on/off each side. See the picture above for the ideal placement of the platform and plate.

Puzzle 3

The next section is a simple extension of the first. Once again, you need to cross the gap, but this time, you have to reach the raised ledge on the other side. Use Ultrahand to pick up your bridge from the previous challenge and take it over to the next section. This time, you need to place the bridge at an angle to form a ramp, again leaving enough room on either side for Link to jump on/off.

See the screenshot above for the ideal placement.

Puzzle 4

The next room is the final one. When you enter the room, there’s a floating platform on your left near a ledge. On the ledge is a chest containing a bundle of five arrows. To get the arrows in the chest, you need to make some stairs, similar to the first challenge in the shrine. You’ll need to use four of the platforms to make the stairs so that the height difference is small enough between each one for Link to jump up. See the picture above for the ideal gaps.

After getting the chest, you need to attach the platforms together to create a walkway. You can attach all four of them, but three is the minimum number required to do the task at hand. When you have your walkway, place it so that it is touching your side of the ledge. It has to be touching the ledge so that Link can walk onto it without jumping.

When your walkway looks something like the picture above, pick up the ball from the other side of the room using Ultrahand. You need to walk to the end of your walkway while holding the ball and then press the up button on the directional pad to send the ball across the gap and into the hole.

This might not be the official way to get the ball across, but it is the quickest and easiest. After getting the ball to the other side, turn your walkway into a ramp, walk to the top with Link, and glide on over to the finish line.

That’s it! Ihen-a Shrine is complete.
