Everybody is Ironman now?
Just a day after leaked promo art for Injustice 2 confirmed its existence, a CGI trailer for the game has been released. While not showing any gameplay footage, the trailer gives us a good idea what to expect from the sequel — more of the grim scowling and punching of the first game, and a new kind of armor system that gives the DC heroes a kind of knockoff Ironman quality.
An accompanying press release sheds some light on the new look, saying “Every battle defines you in a game where players personalize iconic DC characters with unique and powerful gear earned throughout the game. For the first time gamers can take control of how their characters look, fight and develop across a variety of game modes.”
Gear in a fighting game? Not sure if I like the sound of that. On the plus side, the trailer also features an awesome looking Supergirl and the same press release mentions Gorilla Grodd, so I’m going to be playing this no matter what.
The game is scheduled to hit the PS4 and Xbox One in 2017. No word on a PC version (which might be a wise choice considering Warner Bros. recent troubles with PC ports).
