It’s what everyone has always called it
The AIAS sends word that the Interactive Achievement Awards have been renamed to the D.I.C.E. Awards. The new name rolls off the tongue easier, sounds cooler, and fits better with an event that is held in Las Vegas every year. The real reason is that everyone has always called it the D.I.C.E. Awards anyway. Seriously!
This year’s award show, the 16th Annual one, will take place on February 7. I had a great time at last year’s event, and hope to attend again this year.
D.I.C.E. Summit registration is open for the February 5 – 8 event, set to go down at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Among the keynote speakers are Gearbox’s Randy Pitchford, thatgamecompany’s Jenova Chen, and professor of the Practice of Entertainment Technology at Carnegie Mellon University, Jesse Schell.
