With Yinlin’s release in Wuthering Waves, came her signature weapon, Stringmaster, a 5-Star Rectifier with a lot of power behind it. If you’re curious about pulling Stringmaster without getting Yinlin, or if you’re wondering if you should even pull the weapon at all, then I’ve got all that you need to know right here.
Is it worth rolling for Stringmaster in Wuthering Waves?
The short and sweet answer is a resounding yes. Stringmaster is an insanely powerful 5-Star Rectifier that completely dwarfs its standard counterpart, Cosmic Ripples, in all aspects except for raw ATK%. It makes up for its lack of ATK% main stat with a CRIT RATE main stat instead, and that makes it absurdly universal for any characters that use Rectifiers for damage. To put that statement into a reasonable perspective, Stringmaster is Encore’s BiS (Best in Slot) weapon as of Yinlin’s release, and it’s not even close.
As a stat stick, Stringmaster is already a pretty insane weapon, coming with a CRIT RATE stat that scales higher than any other CRIT RATE weapon in the game. However, Stringmaster’s passive ability also provides a significant damage boost to any character that makes use of their Resonance Skill as a primary aspect for dishing out damage. This, again, is why characters like Encore want Stringmaster so badly.
Now since Wuthering Waves is a gacha game, there is a high chance that another powerful 5-Star Rectifier weapon like Stringmaster will be released in the future. There’s also an equally high chance that his new theoretical Rectifier will be just as strong or stronger than Stringmaster. However, looking at Stringmaster as a whole, its high innate CRIT RATE always gives it a potent niche for characters to abuse. Even if it’s knocked down a peg or two, this weapon will never be outright useless in my opinion.
Even if Stringmaster is eventually outclassed by another 5-Star Rectifier, it will likely remain the second-best choice for a long time for most DPS-focused Rectifier characters. Stringmaster’s mixture of universal useful stats and powerful passive ability that all characters can make use of make it a very safe pick for players looking to pick up an additional 5-Star Rectifier for their arsenals.
In Wuthering Waves, thanks to the weapon banner being a guaranteed pick of your choice, weapons actually have a slightly higher value than characters from an account overview standpoint in terms of account progression. The reason is that 4-Star weapons, in general, are far weaker than practically any 5-Star weapon you can obtain. This intrinsically boosts the value of pulling Stringmaster from Yinlin’s banner, as the more 5-Star weapons you have on your account, the better off your characters will be, especially since you can freely swap around weapons and gear during Wuthering Wave’s endgame content, Tower of Adversity.
