[Destructoid’s Director of Communications Hamza Aziz asked Jonathan Holmes to make a show called ‘Sup Holmes?‘ so that Destructoid could later sell a t-shirt that says ‘Sup Holmes?’ on it. This weekend’s Sup Holmes? was a strange meandering treat. Still clad in my boxing referee uniform, I got home just in time to get the show rolling with Brian Provinciano, developer of the upcoming XBLA/PSN/WiiWare/Steam/PS Vita title Retro City Rampage. That combination of excitement and frazzle led to an unusual conversation, one that led to a few reveals from Brian about Retro City Rampage‘s final secrets.

After a bizarre rant about Cubivore, Brian seemed to feel enough pity on me to leak a hint or two about one of Retro City Rampage‘s secret vehicles. Could it be… Donkey Kong? That seems nuts for a GTA-style sandbox game, until you remember that Retro City Rampage already features The A-Team, a rabid radioactive Mario, a group of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cosplayers, the arm from Bionic Commando, Sonic the Hedgehog’s shoes, the Batmobile, and hundreds of other entertainment industry icons and parodies. It’s still pretty crazy to think about riding around on Donkey Kong though. I wonder what he smells like? Probably fruit-filled poop.

Here’s some more fun, including hints about modern game characters set to make a cameos in Retro City Rampage (including ‘Splosion Man and company), talk of the “Image comics of videogames”, and a badass Tango and Cash style hug-out.
