You can get up close and personal with every inch of MOBA action in Predecessor, but the moment-to-moment gameplay won’t matter much if the servers are down.
Predecessor is a fast-paced MOBA title that takes you deeper into the map with an intriguing third-person view, allowing you to see what your hero sees. I feel as though this makes it much more engaging than top-down entries in the genre because you’re constantly on edge, aware that you need to be watching all around your hero to avoid giving a kill to the enemy team. However, none of this matters if the game’s servers are down, and if you’re struggling to get in, you need to know how to check the status of those servers.
Is Predecessor down?
No, at the time of writing, Predecessor is not down. Update VO.16 was released on March 28, 2024, and included some pretty major changes for the game, such as a move to Open Beta, a free-to-play model for everyone, and the release of the Xbox Series X/S version.
As is the case with most online games, updates and server-side changes can cause issues. While the team at Omeda Studios is confident it can combat any issues caused by updates, no one can foresee every possible outcome. I always anticipate some server downtime or issues around new version releases because, especially with games that span multiple platforms and use crossplay, there’s always a possibility that something might break.
If Predecessor does go down, or the servers are taken offline for planned maintenance, then we’ll update this section of the article so you know exactly what’s going on.
How to check Predecessor‘s server status
To check the server status for Predecessor, the best place to start is the game’s official Twitter account. This is where developer Omeda Studios will post about any planned maintenance or known issues before that news is seen anywhere else. If there’s nothing there, it’s worth looking at the game’s official website just in case the outage has been mentioned in some news or the latest patch notes.
There’s no official Predecessor server website page at the time of writing, so these are the only two places I’d recommend checking for server downtime. Of course, if nothing is mentioned on either social media or the game’s website, the game could still be down. If it is, then the outage is almost certainly unplanned and could be the result of one of many issues. A common one we see with online games is too many players trying to get into a match all at once, which usually happens around new versions or update releases.
