They’re the bad guys
Rocksteady’s Batman trilogy is one of the most beloved action series of all time, so some have wondered if Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is in the Arkhamverse. Thankfully, we now have an answer after the February 2023 State of Play.
The developer has announced which universe Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is in. It will be important to know as one of the multiplayer game’s Harley Quinn played quite a pivotal part in the Batman Arkham series. Here’s everything that was told to us.
Does Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Take Place in the Arkhamverse?
Rocksteady has confirmed in a Behind The Scenes trailer that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will be a continuation of the Arkhamverse.
“Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is an extension of the Arkhamverse,” said studio founder Sefton Hill. “It’s really about now reframing the story and telling it from the villain’s point of view.” He also confirmed in the video the game will take place five years after the events of Batman: Arkham Knight.
Is Batman in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League?
The Caped Crusader will indeed be returning in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Under villain Brainiac’s influence, the once-great hero of Gotham had his mind twisted in an extreme way. He is now going to be an antagonist the Suicide Squad has to face. It’s sad that this will be Kevin Conroy’s last performance as Batman as it’s such an alternate take to what we’re used to.
“We’ve always seen Batman’s perspective on this world, and we thought it would be really fun and enjoyable to see this universe through the eyes of the villains,” said Sefton. Let’s see if Amanda Waller’s approach to defeating the Justice League by forming the Suicide Squad will work. With the gun-forward presentation of the gameplay, however, it is quite odd to think how these four could defeat the likes of Superman.
