The Last of Us Part 1 is a huge success on Steam, so it would only make sense The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered on PC would arrive. Like Joel ignoring the truth about what happens to the fireflies, however, you may be waiting a while.
Can you play The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered on PC?
Unfortunately, as of the time of writing, there’s no official date for The Last of Us 2 Part 2 Remastered on PC. Currently, the game is scheduled to drop for the PS5 on January 19.
A later release is expected to come after the first game had over $15.5 million in revenue in just a few weeks of Steam sales, according to GameRant. The Last of Us Part 1 was released on PC March 28, 2023, which came six months after the initial PS5 outing. We’ll likely need to wait the same amount of time before The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered heads to Steam.
The legacy of The Last of Us Part 1‘s port
When the PS5 console release occurred, we thought it was a well-oiled port. However, on PC, it suffered major bugs that may have dissuaded some from buying the game.
“The Last of Us takes a hilariously long time building shaders, to the point of becoming a meme among people who have played this port,” said Timothy Monbleau for Destructoid. “It’s not quite ‘it takes long enough to disqualify you from a Steam refund’ that people have joked, but I do want to say it took a good 40 minutes.”
Recently, The Last of Us Part 1 has been getting Very Positive reviews on Steam. Therefore, these issues may have been fixed. It still has an overall 64% Mixed rating, on the other hand.
We may have to wait longer than six months if PlayStation wants to make sure it releases a perfect PC port for The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered. Once again, there are no official details as of the time of writing.
