It’s that time of year when a new Call of Duty drops, and a new campaign is here to experience. Even though the MW3 campaign is extremely short, you may be interested in playing through it with a friend. So is the MW3 campaign co-op?
Can you play the Call of Duty: MW3 campaign with friends?
I’m afraid not. Unfortunately, the MW3 campaign is not co-op. In fact, the entire 4-hourish campaign has to be played solo and at no time can you play any sort of co-op. It feels like an odd choice, since all the other modes of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 are built around co-op. And, most of the CoD campaigns in the past have had the option. But for whatever reason, the devs opted to not make this campaign co-op.
Honestly, even though the campaign sort of feels like playing a map of Warzone with single-player campaign components, it’s still probably for the best. With the campaign being so short, most people are probably going to skip it. But, if it is your cup of tea, it’s probably best to enjoy the story for what it is solo, and leave the other modes to get your co-op fix.
What modes are co-op in MW3?
Well, obviously in both Warzone and Multiplayer, you can queue with your own party of friends. Even though you’ll essentially be playing against other players, I guess you could consider teaming up with friends to do so co-op.
Also, the Zombies mode, while it too has more of a Warzone-extraction type feel, is also co-op. Apparently, the mode can support up to eight teams of three players. In total, up to 24 players can join a single Zombies game at a time.
So in the end, Is the MW3 campaign co-op? No, it’s not. But pretty much the rest of MW3 so you will have some options for cooperative gameplay.
