We will never run out of Harry Potter jokes
The rumours were true — Daniel Radcliffe really is going to star in the BBC’s Grand Theft Auto documentary.
“Game Changer” (a working title) (thankfully) will also star Bill Paxton in a 90-minute factual drama depicting the “controversy” of one of the world’s most successful gaming franchises, GTA.
“The violent gameplay coupled with its outstanding commercial success leads to fierce opposition: from parents worried about children immersing themselves in such a violent world; from politicians, alarmed at the values they say it encourages; and above all from moral campaigners, who fight passionately to ban it,” says the fantastically dramatic press release (you owe it to yourself to click and read it. Honestly.)
“At the vanguard of this crusade is the formidable campaigning lawyer Jack Thompson, a man determined to do whatever he can to stop the relentless rise of Grand Theft Auto.”
“Game Changer (w/t) tells the story of an extraordinary chapter in the history of this iconic game, and reveals the major impact it has had on our cultural landscape.”
So, yes, it’s official: Radcliffe will indeed to stepping into the shoes of Sam Houser, and Paxton as Jack “won’t-someone-please-think-of-the-children” Thompson.
I cannot freakin’ wait.
