Japan is wacky for Wii Fit

Recommended Videos

According to Next Gen, Famitsu asked its readers what they thought the top 10 news stories of recent shows like E3 2007 and Tokyo’s PlayStation Premiere were, and Nintendo’s announcement of Wii Fit topped the list.

It looks like Japan is slightly more enthusiastic about the new Nintendo fitness peripheral than many of our readers and editors are. The Wii Fit software and board news even topped the impressive Metal Gear Solid 4 gameplay demo, and that’s not to mention the new Sony PlayStation Portable redesign or any other PS3 or Xbox 360 title announcement.

Other naturals like Sony’s Home, Little Big Planet, and Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. Brawl also made the list, but another strange Nintendo peripheral, the Wii Zapper, managed to beat many of those out.

Are we really on a totally different page than Famitsu’s readers?
