Jeffrey Katzenberg, one third of the holy trinity of Dreamworks’ founders, can now be found on the Board of Directors at Zynga as well. On the Zynga blog, Mark Pincus shared: “Jeffrey and I have been friends for some time, and I knew he’d be a great fit for the board after he suggested that the blockbuster of 2011 could be ShrekVille.”
Please don’t.
With Zynga’s main Ville titles slowly losing momentum or peaking, Katzenberg’s experience could be invaluable to the social games juggernaut. After all, he helped Disney turn around its animation department which resulted in things like Who Framed Roger Rabbit, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast Aladdin, and The Lion King. But then again, he also gave us Shrek.
