For Crystal Dynamics’ Tomb Raider reboot, it’s not just the popular heroine that’s getting an overhaul. The franchise’s new look, gameplay hooks, and more are all detailed in the latest issue of Game Informer — it sounds like a major metamorphosis of a series.
Not mentioned, though is multiplayer. But according to a job listing spotted on Gamasutra, Crystal Dynamics is actively looking for a project manager to deal with the multiplayer component of a “major” “action adventure title.”
It’s pure speculation that the title in question is the upcoming Tomb Raider, of course. Lara recently took a partner, Totec, in the downloadable title Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light.
Reading about the new Tomb Raider in the latest Game Informer, it certainly sounds like a solid single-player-focused affair. You have to hope that if Crystal Dynamics is planning to add a multiplayer mode to Tomb Raider, they’re doing it for the right reasons, and not simply to add a bulletpoint to the game’s fact sheet.
