People were nervous when Activision said that Sledgehammer Games’ new Call of Duty game would be an action-adventure title. If your mind jumped to third-person when hearing that, well, we’re with you on that. But don’t worry — it seems like the new CoD will be a first-person shooter.
Sledgehammer has some job listings on Gamasutra for their upcoming Call of Duty game. G4 noticed that the positions are listed for “Call of Duty First Person Shooter development team.” Phew! And again, to hit it home, they also say that the job is an opportunity “to work on the most successful FPS franchise in the history of video games.”
Doubts? Well, you can still have them, but they’ll be first-person doubts now. We’re with 1UP on this: How in the hell do you make a first-person action-adventure title? They remind that Activision said that this new game would be an “innovative take that will further broaden the audience for Call of Duty.”
Wait. Does Call of Duty even need a broader audience?
Heh, they should go all point-and-click adventure, like Myst. That would be first-person, wouldn’t it?
