A worthy investment
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom features many shrines for players to complete, each with their own challenges. By far one of the most fascinating shrines are the ones where all of the puzzles happen outside of the shrine itself. Such is the case with the Jochi-Ihiga shrine in Tears of the Kingdom.
Where to find the Jochi-Ihiga shrine in Tears of the Kingdom
To find the Jochi-Ihiga shrine in Tears of the Kingdom, look just southwest of Tarrey Town and directly south of the construction site. It is at the base of a waterfall, but there is something quite odd about it.
If you stumble upon this shrine, it will initially be empty unlike most other shrines. There is no way to enter the shrine and complete it, at least from a glance. To access it, you’ll have to complete a shrine quest first called Rock for Sale.
How to complete the Rock for Sale shrine quest
To access the Jochi-Ihiga shrine, head to Tarrey Town and look for the man standing next to the rail car. He has a glowing green crystal that is next to him that he will try to sell to you for 100 rupees before a lady intervenes.
Buy the crystal from him for 50 rupees after he lowers the price, which is absolutely a worthy investment. What he gives you is a shrine crystal, which guides you using a beam of light to the shrine that it is associated with. Unfortunately, even if you have the fast travel point for the Jochi-Ihiga shrine, you’ll have to walk there manually with the crystal.
I don’t suggest carrying the crystal by hand, or else you’ll walk quite slowly. Instead, use Ultrahand and walk with it using this power. The best way to get to the Jochi-Ihiga shrine with the shrine crystal is to take the rail car down to the construction site.
Here, you’ll want to build a boat to help you cross the water. View my screenshot above for an example. The game, fortunately, gives you all the tools you need to make a boat at the construction site. Alternatively, you can use your own using Zonai devices. Once you have your boat, attach the crystal and cross to the other side to the shrine location.
Once you get close enough to the empty shrine, you’ll see a brief cutscene. The crystal expands and turns into the now-complete Jochi-Ihiga shrine. You can now enter the shrine and get your reward. This shrine is a Rauru’s Blessing shrine—we love to see it— so all you need to do is open up the chest for a diamond worth 1,000 rupees and then claim your Light of Blessing for instant full shrine completion.
