JoJo’s All Star Battle gets a release date, fab box art

And an equally fab limited edition box

Fans of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, CyberConnect2, or crazy 3D anime fighting games can all start marking their calendars now, because Namco Bandai has confirmed an August 29th release date for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle. That’s roughly six and a half months from now, and five-odd months from the release of another CyberConnect2-developed crazy 3D anime fighter, Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 3. Really tearing it up in that department, aren’t they?

The game’s also getting a spiffy collector’s edition, too. Called the “Gold Experience Box”, the limited edition will come with a special box, a figure of protagonist Jotaro Kujo and his Stand, Star Platinum, a “Golden art plate” with an illustration of Giorno Giovanna and his Stand Gold Experience, drawn by original artist Hirohiko Araki, a soundtrack CD, notepad, and a download code for an extra playable character, Yoshikage Kira. A lot of stuff, you might think, but the price could probably buy some gold on its own: ¥16,980 ($182).

So far all of this is announced just for Japan, but given how pretty the game is in the assorted screens and trailers released (a few are below, along with sweet box art), I’d be hard-pressed to believe that All Star Battle won’t cross the pond at some point.
