Streamer Kai Cenat has shown off an incredible life-size statue of Malenia, Blade of Miquella, one of the most challenging bosses, if not the toughest boss in Elden Ring. The statue is a gift and recognizes Cenat’s monumental effort into his 24+ hour ordeal with the boss in-game.
The statue arrives less than a week ahead of the game’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, which promises to add a colossal new area and twist on its gameplay mechanics. While many call it life-size, the images and videos of it make Malenia look absolutely massive, almost as tall as Lady Dimetrescu. Having that towering over you as you face boss after boss in FromSoftware’s most brutal DLC can only be a source of inspiration and motivation.
Kai Cenat celebrated for his Elden Ring achievements with massive Malenia statue
Kai Mafia Updates shared the above video on Twitter, showing Cenat revealing the statue of Malenia for the first time. It’s incredibly impressive and appears to be quite detailed. Further posts on the subject show Cenat taking off Malenia’s helmet and arm, though that doesn’t appear to be the intended way for her to be displayed.
Earlier this year, Cenat took on the challenge of beating Elden Ring and eventually entered into a marathon 24+ hour slog of bashing his head against the brick wall that is Malenia, Blade of Miquella. However, he emerged victorious and went on to beat the game, but not before he’d racked up 1,700 deaths against her. I think his post telling the world he’d beaten the game must have been one of the most satisfying ever to write.
Having played most of FromSoftware’s soulslike games, I’m in awe of anyone who has managed to beat Elden Ring. Malenia, Blade of Miquella is a top contender for the toughest boss in the genre, but what I love about this story is that Cenat clearly reached multiple points where he probably felt like doing anything else other than fighting this boss, and he kept on going until he’d beaten her. That drive then kept him going through the rest of the game.
That’s the thing about Soulslikes; you only need one rough boss to put you through the wringer to show you that you can overcome anything.
Malenia, Blade of Miquella, is a boss in Elden Ring who has ended many runs. Her second phase, which comes after you think you’ve already beaten her, feels like a slap in the face. One Elden Ring player, Let Me Solo Her, was recognized by FromSoftware for the amount of effort they put into helping other players beat this boss specifically because so many players struggle to battle her.
After he was done with Elden Ring in May, Cenat outlined how Shadow of the Erdtree would be the first of seven games he’d be marathoning. The DLC is slated to be enormous and focuses on a character very close to Malenia, Miquella. We have no way of knowing just how tough this new boss will be to beat, but if he’s anything like Malenia, we might ll be in for our own 24+ hour sessions.
