Don’t think that I’ve forgotten about Kaio: King of Pirates. I’ve been following its development pretty closely for years now, and I was excited at the prospect of it finally coming to light. Maybe it was delayed because Inafune came up with the concept for Mighty No. 9, which obviously had priority over it. Who knows.
Sadly, the dream is over, officially, as the title has been canceled. What was once planned as a possible trilogy is no more, with the reason given that the marketplace has “shifted,” and there was no reason to continue development.
Well, that sucks.
