Not to be outdone by Kratos and tetrominos, the Belmonts are making their way to mobile phones this September with Castlevania: Order of Shadows. Announced today as part of Konami’s new mobile initative, Order of Shadows features never-before-seen game play, a new storyline, and original music.
The game is being developed in “collaboration” with Koji Igarashi; it’s unclear whether or not that just means someone sent him an e-mail letting him know they were making the game. Konami are promising original songs and full screen particle effects, whatever that will look like on your RAZR.
Konami have also launched the “Developers Corner” on their mobile Web site. The first installment is a blog written by Castlevania: Order of Shadows‘ lead game designer, Tyrone Rodriguez, where he talks about how he’s not Koji Igarashi.
You can start playing Castlevania: Order of the Shadows while waiting online at the DMV (or using the toilet, or waiting on hold with Microsoft to get your Xbox 360 replace, or …) on September 18. It will be available on most major carriers, including AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon.
