Level-5 also reveals sales of Ni no Kuni, Inazuma Eleven, and the Guild games
Level-5 has kicked the fans in the collective nuts with the complete tonal shift that is Layton 7. That must mean the games are on their last legs and can no longer make bank on Nintendo handhelds alone, right? Not likely if these facts and figures are to be believed: the entire Layton series has sold a staggering 15 million units worldwide. Riddle me that!
Another Level-5 franchise that has performed well at 6.5 million units sold is Inazuma Eleven, the anime-flavored soccer RPG series that has only been released in Japan and Europe. Next on the list is Ni no Kuni, whose worldwide PS3 version and Japan-exclusive DS version combine for a modest 1.4 million. I’m telling ya, Ni no Kuni DS needs to be localized on eShop, pronto!
Finally, the six digital Guild releases — from Liberation Maiden to Attack of the Friday Monsters — have been downloaded 400,000 times in total, half of those sales coming from the West. Sounds like a success to me!
