GAME is still dragging its broken legs behind itself as it crawls across a field of broken glass, suffering further indignity today with reports that both Microsoft and Activision have decided to pull back their support of the company. That’s according to a leaked memo, and GAME’s leaked memos haven’t been wrong so far.
As a result of this, GAME is unlikely to be stocking the Star Wars Kinect Xbox 360 bundle in April, and loses out on Kinect Rush: A Disney/Pixar Adventure. From the Activision side, it’s confirmed the UK retailer won’t stock Cabela Big Game Hunter 2012 and Zhu Zhu Babies. Not the biggest games in the world, but losing the biggest publisher is nonetheless terrible.
Also, for reference, Kid Icarus: Uprising, Shogun 2: Fall of the Samurai and Yakuza: Dead Souls will not be found on store shelves.
Somehow, it’s worse to me that bullshit games are now being pulled from shelves. Big games like Mass Effect 3 are one thing, but when a company decides you’re not even good enough for Zhu Zhu Ballbags, you’re in deep poop.
As GAME looks set for the scrapheap, there are rumors that Walmart might be looking to take over. Either way, the retailer can’t go on like this.
