Dontnod’s not wasting too much time
We’re mere days away from the playable teaser for Life is Strange 2, a neat little adjacent story about an imaginative child who’s using fantasy escapism to make the best of a bad situation. It’s called The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit, and it releases for free on June 25. In the buildup to Captain Spirit, developer Dontnod has claimed it’ll formally announce the Life is Strange sequel “in the coming months.”
That vague window got a lot clearer this morning. Dontnod sent out the following tweet regarding Life is Strange 2:
Episode 1 of #LifeisStrange2 will release on September 27th 2018!
Further information about #LifeisStrange2 will be revealed this August. pic.twitter.com/HR42KUyqmD— DONTNOD_Ent (@DONTNOD_Ent) June 22, 2018
So, we’re getting an August reveal and that first episode releases on September 27. Like its predecessor, Life is Strange 2 will have a five-episode arc. That all sounds good. It’s nice to know what to expect when you’re expecting.
